Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
