Drake Maye has taken sacks on 35 occasions – ranking second league-wide – and some of the shots he suffered last weekend appeared dangerous. Over time, that punishment compounds.

Broncos Situation

Denver stands at also 8-2, yet it seems as if they’re holding their breath. The Denver signal-caller has shown inconsistency, with the attack struggling, while the defensive unit provides the majority of the work. Absent adequate signal-calling, Denver cannot intimidate anyone in the postseason. The Chargers are also hovering in the Western division holding a 7-2 record, however, health issues within their blocking corps will make it tough to achieve championship contention.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Then we have the Steelers, surprisingly atop the Northern division even after suffering 25-10 by the Chargers on Sunday night. Their scoring margin remains negative, their defensive unit frequently falters, and Aaron Rodgers’ limitations during his career phase continue to show up. This development isn't entirely shocking that the Ravens have pulled within a game of the Steelers, but how rapidly this occurred is an indictment of Pittsburgh's fluctuating form. Considering the Ravens opened losing five of six and currently seem likely to claim the title speaks volumes regarding the entire AFC.

Established Contenders

Baltimore constitutes part among three elite teams – joined by Buffalo and Kansas City – powered by their MVP quarterbacks, that would continue to generate the most fear among competitors if they qualified. They represent undesirable playoff matchups, but the Chiefs and Bills cannot get out of their own way.

Bills Struggles
