Across the intensely cutthroat realm of gaming, it's usual for fresh competitors to vanish as rapidly as they explode onto the scene.
But Battlefield 6 is striving to alter that.
Here comes the latest entry in a long-running combat FPS line often positioned as a more realistic alternative to the CoD series.
This game has seldom managed to equal its most famous competitor in aspects of units sold or user base, but there are signs the new installment could close the gap.
An early access event enabling users a chance to experience the game earlier this year broke records, and the buzz approaching its launch has been immense.
However the undertaking is nevertheless a big venture for developer the gaming giant, which has allegedly spent vast amounts of funds developing it.
We have spoken to a number of the creators to learn how they hope it will succeed.
Production Crew and Company Collaboration
A total of four teams have been creating the title under the Battlefield Studios umbrella.
This includes veteran producer Dice, based in Europe, LA's Motive team and Ripple Effect Studios in North America.
The fourth, Criterion, is situated in the UK.
The general manager is the general manager of the two European studios, and tells us that, in respect of what it's delivering gamers, "Battlefield 6 is probably unbeatable."
Learning From Earlier Mistakes
The new release follows the release of the futuristic the previous game, published previously to a unfavorable response it found it hard to overcome.
"It's likely that we couldn't make and develop Battlefield 6 without the insights we acquired in the last release," the manager explains to the press.
A key those takeaways was to involve players participating early, and the studio initiated exclusive fan trials earlier this year.
This "response was incredibly positive," comments the manager.
A further missing ingredient from the last game was a solo experience, which has been brought back in this version.
The UK studio design director the design director is the one responsible for "making sure those missions are as enjoyable and engaging as possible for the gamers."
Regardless of allegations that the scale of the game had created pressure for the different developers collaborating globally to build the project, he is optimistic about the work.
"Collaborating with diverse cultures, different heritages, it's a really engaging setting to be engaged with every day," he shares.
"This entire approach has been a fresh take but also very inspiring because we are collaborating with individuals from around the globe."
Concerning the pressure on the developers, the director states: "We experience demand but at the same time it's thrilling.
"This is a big venture. It's likely the most significant that most of us have before been involved in."
New Talent Contributes New Perspective

This young professional produces the lighting elements that shape the tone, tone, and direction of the single-player campaign.
The artist finished an internship at Criterion prior to securing a position with them, and currently works part-time while concluding his digital arts studies at the university.
The developer says he's a dedicated enthusiast of the franchise, and remembers enjoying the previous game of the line at a buddy's place when he was in his youth.
Working on it now, as his first professional role, "doesn't feel tangible."
"It's really crazy witnessing the advertising everywhere," he says.
"To know that I have added my individual work into the game is truly unbelievable."
