Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a message.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
